About

A social network is a social structure made of nodes (which are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, ideas, financial exchange, friendship, sexual relationships, kinship, dislike, conflict or trade. (wikipedia)

More relavent is wikipedia’s definition of a social network service: A social network service focuses on building online communities of people who share interests and/or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others. Most social network services are web based and provide a variety of ways for users to interact, such as e-mail and instant messaging services.

Our mission statement is still being developed.  Here is a 1st draft. Suggestions are welcome.

“Promote the development, understanding, and use of social networks concepts and technologies to the Montana business community. ”

  • Promote benefits of social networks through education (social networks, online courses, trade shows, webinars, mailing lists, etc)
  • Promote compliance with industry standards where feasible (Open ID, )
  • Identify Montana-centric issues within the sphere of Social Networks.

We are looking for others interested in participating in this new venture.
